RIC COLLEGE QUESTION, rhode island collge

Hello. My DD graduates this spring and wants to attend RIC to become a nurse. I have heard that the program is almost impossible to get into and that she would be better off at URI or somewhere else. I have heard many students go through all the prereqs and do not get a seat in the nursing school. Can someone tell me what the reality is for a student starting at RIC? Its not too late for her to go to URI... though it would be more than we really should spend. I do not want to send her to CCRI (long story). I do not want to send her to St. Joes. Please advise what the reality is for RIC hopefuls and what we can and should do. SHe is curently accepted into RIC with an "undecided" major.
