I fractured my femur on June 21st and am returning to work slowly, on modified duties (no lifting, no double shifts, nights or short shifts only) and one shift on, one shift off.
My doctor has ok'ed the above restrictions, and I met with the employer and the union to discuss sheduling and how to handle it if I am unable to tolerate the proximity of the shifts.
It is possible that I will have to back off, as the bone has not healed completely, and some of the hardware is bending, so may have to be removed.
Has anyone ever returned to work under similar circumstances? I work LTC so the workload is not super intense on nights, and I have supportive PCAs to work with so the lifting restrictions should not be an issue.
