Relocating to Arizona

Published

I currently work as a RN in NYS for 2.5 years and has been an LPN for 5.5 years. I'm relocating to Arizona and was wondering how is the job market for getting hired in a hospital with excellent benefits? What's a good hospital to apply to?

Specializes in Neuro, Telemetry.

First, what part of AZ are you looking to move to and do you have a BSN? The answer to those two questions will result in pretty different answers.

If if you have your eyes set on a hospital, the HonorHealth system is exceptional in pay and benefits. Mayo has great pay but don't know about benefits. Dignity Health system has lower than average pay but I have heard benefits are good and they are just a wonder health group to work for. Banner has great training but on the lower side of the hospital pay scale. Of the people I know who work for them, it's hit or miss if they would refer banner. I haven't worked for Abrazo but don't hear very good things about them. Same goes for IASIS healthcare hospitals.

These are all Phoenix metro medical systems. If you are planning to be up north or in the Tuscon area, then I have no clue.

How easy it will be to get a job will depend on if you have a BSN and where you intend to apply.

Thank you for the information. I don't have my bachelor's degree but I noticed banner prefers bachelor nurses. I'm hoping to apply for a job with excellent benefits and then figure out where to live based on that. I don't want to travel far away from work. Thanks
