Hi! I'm looking to relocate from MA to Charleston South Carolina area. I've been looking at the job listings at Roper and MUSC. I'm trying to figure out where/what type of unit I'd feel is comparable to my current and what other units are like!
I work at a large Boston area teaching hospital. I've been RN with a BSN for 5 years And have charge nurse experience. I have my ACLS and am med-surg BC. It's a large general medicine floor. We have tele patients, and some gtts like insulin, morphine, and heparin. We're not allowed cardiac gtts on the unit and we don't titrate lytes. I feel like I'm told my floor is not a step down unit, but in our facility it is considered one. I'm not sure if this is more comparable to a tele unit down in SC, but I'm open to trying new experiences too!
any information would be helpful in my job search! I don't want to apply to a unit that's not busy as my current and be underwhelmed
