Registration and Employment in SK

Published

Hello!! I'm an IEN and wishes to work as RN in SK. I have enumerated below the things ive gathered as to how to register and land a work in SK, and also included questions (marked as "Q") on parts that are not clear to me. i wish that someone will help me answer those questions,, thank you in advance.

REGISTRATION:

  1. contact with the SRNA
  2. passing all requirements for application
  3. waiting for their assessment
    • if competency gaps were found, will undergo SEC
      • Q: What are the things that SRNA will consider to check competency? Does grades in College matter? Experience as RN?

[*]if competency gaps were found in SEC, will undergo remedial education

  • Q: Is it possible to fail a remedial education?

[*]schedule to write a CRNE

  • Q: If eligible to write CRNE, is there a time frame followed should i write the exam? What if i plan to prepare for 1 to 2years before i take the exam, is it ok?

[*]may have a GN license

  • Q: Is everyone entitled for an Interim Permit?
  • Ive learned that it's up to the applicant if he plans to use the permit or not. If the applicant plans to register as GN, SRNA must be informed.
    • Q: Can the applicant register as GN anytime he wants? Is there a time frame followed once you are eligible to register as GN?

[*]I learned that one may work as RN in SK if holder of Interim Permit with limited scope of practice and time while preparing to write the exam.

    • Q: Are there employers who hire GN?
    • Q: Is "current registration as RN in SRNA" the same with having an Interim permit? Because during my research, all RN job vacancies require the former, i have not seen any vacancy that may require Interim permit. are both the same?

[*]may have a permanent permit after a successful CRNE

[*]RN of SRNA

EMPLOYMENT:

[*=1]Q: Are all applications as RN should be made personal? I fear that employers will not entertain online applications, especially that im too far from Canada.

*end*

PS

i will greatly appreciate all your response:hrnsmlys:

I would phone SRNA and ask them these questions because they will give you the most accurate answer. If calling them is not an option for you they list email addresses for you to use if you have any inquiries. :)

thank you Smartone86 , i already have explored the website of SRNA, and other links they have provided but i found no answer to those questions. i still hope that this thread will help me find answers. Please help me..

We can't answer these questions here. Each candidate's experience and education is assessed individually by SRNA. You need to email them or contact them directly.
