Recruitment companies

Hi everyone! I'm a grad nurse recently graduated in aug '06. I'm from Canada and looking to relocate to las vegas/henderson. Does anyone know of any great companies/agencies that will place me there for permanent jobs? Does it really matter to go through a company/agency or not? My husband's cousin (an RN) told me it would be better to do so because they'd help out with all the information i would need. I've browsed through a lot of companies online but many of them are asking for a lot more experience than I have...makes me feel a bit discouraged. I know I am capable..if only they'd give me a chance. Also one of the companies that I did apply through called me and told me they'd prefere I have at least one year experience.
