Recommendations for NCLEX-RN review books?

I am looking for recommendations for NCLEX-RN review books. I recently purchased "NCLEX-RN Questions & Answers Made Incredibly Easy". I really like the book but find that it seems a bit simple in some subjects. Four of us nursing students are trying to get together and each purchase different books so we have a big selection to study from.

Please let me know which books you like/dislike, and try to be specific as to why you don't or do like them.

Thx! Lpn2rnMay2005 (if I get through this semester! Level 4 is hell!):scrying:

i have a Kaplan book, that is neat b/c it goes over test taking strategies as well as has sample questions. and comes w/ a CD. rationale for answers, too.

i have NCLEX-RN made incredibly easy, which i like b/c it is content review, and a CD of questions

and also, i have "Mosby's review questions for the nclex-rn examination" wich is all questions, like a zillion of them. broken into content areas, and comprehensive exams,a nd rationale. and, it ocmes w/ a cd that has all the questions, and more. haven't been able to dive into that one too much yet

goood luck

I'm using two different books to study for NCLEX: The Princeton Review 7th ed, and Lippincott's NCLEX-RN 250 New-format Questions. I also bought the Mosby Comprehensive Review CD. All this may seem like overkill but they are all very good. I especially like the Lippincott book because it gives some very good examples of the fill in the blank diagrams and questions and the multi option multiple choice questions that are now on the NCLEX.

oh yeah, my mosby's review questions book,on the cd, has samples of math questions, and the "select all that apply" questions.

I like Kaplan NCLEX-RN for reviewing and priortizing questions. This book does not give you a great selection of questions however their stratagies are priceless. I am looking into the others that have been posted.

Thanks great post

I'm using Mosby's comprehensive review with CD and also NCLEX3000. I love the NCLEX3000 CD the questions seem a lot harder than Mosby's and more like what I get in school. It also lets you pick specific areas to test on. (respiratory, GI, cardiac ect)
