Receiving a degree in Australia

I am a senior in high school in New York. I am looking to attend college in Australia, either the University of Queensland or the University of Sydney- both excellent nursing programs. As of now I do not plan on staying there after university. However, I am worried that my licensing will be an issue when coming back to New York. I do not want to waste my time if it will not transfer over at all. Does anybody know how this works? I have tried to reach out to multiple Nursing Regulatory Bodies and have had no luck. Just an American looking to have an international experience in need of closure.
