received a job offer- now what?

Specializes in Maternity, nicu.

I finally got a call back from a recruiter. He said he would like to offer me the job (new grad RN) and to come in for paperwork and to bring my license, etc. Can someone please tell me what to expect about the hiring process? Is there usually drug testing, a long wait, etc?

This is South FL hospital , if it makes a difference.

i can't speak specifically for S.Fl, but most employers now do drug screens (if you're on rx drugs, bring the bottles with you so they can document what is likely to show up on the drug screen). Usually, if they give you a time to come in, it's not too bad of a wait- HR doesn't have the unexpected stuff as much as a Nurse Manager would. Also bring your social security card and drivers' license. You need 2 forms of ID, and those will work for the I-9 forms.

Congratulations on the job :):clpty:  :dncgbby: :hpygrp:

what agency did you use?

Thanks! It went pretty much like you described. Paperwork, drug test, plus ppd check. Was told to come back to follow up on ppd and finish up more papers.

I didn't use an agency, just local hospital
