My school does a point system to get into the nursing program. I had some issues that came up when I was younger that really weren't under my control and that caused me to have to re-take some classes. I used the worksheet to see where I stood and even if I make all A's and make a perfect score on my TEA's I will only have a score of about 988. I know this will not be enough to get me in. I'm in the process of talking to different advisers to see what the average score is. I have had my heart set on nursing for a very long time and now I'm thinking maybe it's not going to happen. Does anyone have any advice. No matter what I do, it's not going to raise my score. I'm thinking maybe I'll have to either change my major or I'll have to try LPN, but I don't know if that's easier to get into or not. Any advice?

Look around for other schools offering the RN program, or like you said go for LPN.
Well unfortunately the majority of schools around in my area are taken by my old school. There is a university and 1 other that is about an hour away, I have already looked into these schools and I'm probably going to have to do LPN and go that way. It's just upsetting.

My advice is to find a program that does not have a point system but rather less objective criteria. Or, less stringent criteria.
