Finally got my IV therapy manual and got started on my reading for the upcoming fall semester (Aug 22). The first chapter is about liability, malpracatice and patient harm. YIKES! Makes me a little more nervous about learning IV starts. We are going to check off on them as soon as school starts. :chair:

I pick up my manual next week with the rest of my books. We too check off on this skill the beginning of next semester. I am scared to death to do this. We have to do one on each other to pass. I think this will definitely be the one skill where I am nervous for a good reason. Good luck to you.:)

We practice on one another also. I did okay on the dummy at the end of last semester, but poking a real person is different . Good luck to you also.

our school definitely won't let us practice on each other but we practiced on the "dummy arms"...WAY different than a real person. Don't be afraid to jump right in there the first chance you get in clinicals. Personally I built it up to be a HUGE ordeal and when it came down to it and I did the first one it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck guys!
