RCGC Nursing Program

Published

I found out about RCGC from a friend in January of senior year. I didn't even know it existed because I live in Camden County and my school never had RCGC visit. The application due date was in February and I had to take the HESI exam asap. I only had one month to study and take it once since there was one final test date. I passed every single section I was required to take EXCEPT vocabulary, which was two points below the required score (min of 70; I got a 68). So now I have to take the Health Science track for one year, then reapply. Do I have a good chance of getting in the second time around?

Hi,

I was in the same situation as you. I last minute heard about the RCGC nursing program and took the last available test date. I passed every section and failed the grammar section by 2 points! All of my pre-reqs were pre-nursing ones so I just took a "life break" and retook and passed the HESI on the second try, and was accepted to their Fall 2019 semester. I think you have a great chance of getting in the second time around! Don't quote me on this, but I believe and was told by many that when you pass the HESI and have a decent GPA, you'll definitely get accepted. I am in the program right now and will begin my senior year this Fall. Good luck and never lose hope :)
