I am starting a thread for those who are applying for the RN new grad program at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego starting in Spring 2019 so we can update each other about whats going on! Good luck to everyone!

Hello! I am applying to the Rady 2019 New Grad as well! I am from Boston and graduate in December but am moving to San Diego in January. I am applying to Oncology and the Medicine floor as of now! I find it interesting that the application is only open for a week. How about you?

hey! how did you apply to a specific floor? On the webiste the application was almost too simple. it just wanted my name, email, phone number and cover letter/resume. It also only allowed me to click the "new grad residency program"- i could pick a specific unit...

It said to specify what unit you want in the cover letter. I actually just re-read it. I know in previous cohorts you could specify two areas of interest. They must have changed it! What area is everyone interested in? :)

Hey guys! I applied to PICU. I am glad I checked their website because I asked the nurse recruiter when the app would open and he told me December. I almost missed it!

I applied too! Also from Boston! Goodluck guys, I also thought the application process was slightly easy. Hope we hear something soon- does anyone have any idea how this process went for previous cohorts?

Awesome! What floor are you interested in? Last March my friend started this program. They got to choose two floors but the application stayed open until December. Interviews were in early/mid Jan! I'm not sure how similar the process was but I know depending on what floor you interview there is different timelines.

Yeah the application was very simple but I think that the nurse recruiter should send out an additional application via email after they review the cover letters. I applied to the NICU! Has anyone heard back from a recruiter yet?

havent heard anything back either. Does anyone know when the program would potentially start? I try to call and get more info but never get thru.
