I ordered, tried on and then returned about 20 pairs of nursing shoes before I found a pair that fit good and felt great. I live in a small town and there are no stores nearby that sell shoes specifically for the medical profession.
ANYWAY, I love my shoes. Then, I changed hospitals....!!!
Now I squeak! I didn't squeak at the other hospital because all the floors were carpeted so I never noticed a problem. Now that I am walking on hard, waxed floors, my patients hear me coming three halls away!
Are there any tips or tricks to make your shoes stop squeaking? I thought there might be some obscure remedy that might save me from having to buy yet another pair of shoes.
Please let me know if you can help!!!
I work nights, so the squeak is even louder then!

Jaxnrn, I hear you! (sorry, no pun intended). That's all you need...to have your shoes wake the patients while you make rounds.
I wear athletic shoes now instead of my old standard leather nurses shoes. Thought the squeaking shoe thing only happened with leathers. Still, I occasionally get a pair of athletic shoes that squeak just as much after a while.
Right now, I wearing some Nikes - only the left one squeaks. I have no idea how to stop the squeak (other than to hop on the right foot only). :)
