I was hoping for some information about day to day activities, what you like/dislike about your job, what you wish you had known about your job before starting, etc. I am applying to programs this fall and am trying to learn as much as I can about nursing in general but also to which programs I should be applying (accelerated bsn or msn). I appreciate any and all information....

Specializes in LTC/Rehab, Med Surg, Home Care.

The answer is going to depending on the kind of nursing. Even within hospitals, the answer differs based on ICU, emergency, med surg, psych, L&D, or surgery/day surgery.

There's home health, LTC, outpatient areas such as dialysis, etc, etc, etc...

The oncology unit my nephew is in does 12 hour shifts, yet another factor to consider.

Good luck.
