This kind of a add on to a question I asked awhile back. Found out I'm going to Bethesday after March ODS. Are there any Navy nurses out there who have been stationed there that can tell me about what you wear while working at the hospital? Do you have specific shoes or can you wear whatever? I'm on the hunt for a good pair but if I have to wear something very specific then I will stop my sneaker search. Also....kind of off topic but when it comes to using the navy for moving my belongings to my duty station I have belongings both where I currently am living and in storage where I was living until recently. I imagine the answer is yes but just double checking here and with another source: I will need to move said things from storage to my current location correct? I assume everything has to be in one location. If anyone can help I will greatly appreciate it!!!!

1. You do realize that Bethesda is a tri-service hospital with all services stationed and working there?...
2. I would keep out a conservative pair of sneakers to wear with your scrubs if you are going to be working on the floor.
3. If you know the unit you are going to be assigned to or have your chief nurses contact information they are the best people to ask. I would imagine that you will be assigned a sponsor at some point from the unit you are going to work on, and they should help to get settled in/answer all your questions.
4. When you set up your move it isn't Navy specific. The movers will move the items from both areas. You will set this all up when you talk to your local Travel Management Office which can be done at any base that is close to you regardless of service.
Do a search on here for LTDAN he is a Lt Commander assigned to Bethesda a couple of years ago, but I haven't seen him post on here in a long time. He would be your best Navy Nurse to ask about NNMC.
I was stationed there, but my knowledge is mostly of the OR/anesthesia. I didn't spend a lot time on the floors except for rounds and dropping off patients.
