Hi:
I was wondering if anyone has recently been admitted to Francis Tuttle's LPN program in Oklahoma City and, if so, what the cut off for admission was, points wise.
I've recently applied and scored well on the Compass test. In addition, I will receive several points for classes already taken and a couple of points for my GPA. Overall, I believe I will have 17 points, which is nearly half of the available points.
To get more points, one would have to have taken more prerequisites to an RN program and performed well, scored well on the Compass and have prior nursing experience. My assumption is that anyone who would have obtained many more points is more likely already admitted to an RN program, or at the very least was referred to Francis Tuttle or another area program for the 1+1 program (so I wouldn't be competing with them for a spot.
Does anyone have any idea the likelihood of my admission?
Thanks for your answers.

I am a grad of Francis Tuttle. When I applied, I believe we only had to pass the Compass, some previous pre-reqs and nursing experience. I was not even a CNA. I was fortunate to be admitted to the first nurse option program (no longer available). We were allowed to take Nursing Fundamentals and A/P, until a slot opened in the LPN program. I am trying to remember what the point system was...sorry, but, I can't!!! The !:! program was not available at that time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me...

cool! I applied there too today. I applied to the 1+1 and the LPN day only too.
I asked one of the advisors there when we should be able to find out if we got in or not, and they really couldn't answer that question...
Do you know by chance?
Thanks
If ya want you can pm me too.
I read in the application packet that you're supposed to know the admission decisions for the regular full-time day LPN program by June 21, which is actually a Sunday. Anyhow, we should know fairly quickly.
I cannot PM you yet because I don't have sufficient priveleges. How many points did you apply with (if you don't mind answering)?
Thanks and good luck!
Oh your fine, I had 22 points. But I am hoping that having my bachelors degree, all prerequietes for RN school, and scoring okay on the compass will maybe get me in???.... I applied to the 1+1 LPN program and also the LPN day only program. I asked the health science advisor, how many points does it take to get in.. He said that last years cutoff points was 25... But, he said this year could be different. So lets cross our fingers :)
Do you have most of your prerequistes out of the way for RN? Or have you decided to go on to RN after LPN?
Hope to talk to you soon..
With a bachelors degree and all your prerequisites, were you not able to get into OCCCs accelerated RN program? What points do they want for that program?
Well... no I wasn't (( But, however they did put me on the alternate list. I was like number 25. The gpa cutoff was a 3.3. I have a 3.1 So, I was pretty upset. It is not set on points, but only set on your cumulative gpa only. It is different from the traditional 2 year RN.
Hey T-Mcelmore,
Just wondering if you had received your acceptance letter from francis tuttle votech for the lpn program? I am still waiting on mine. I am wondering what was the cutoff points to get in for this years lpn program??
hope to hear from you soon!
Didn't make it into Francis Tuttle -- they only take about 15-16 people (can't remember exactly now) so obviously its competitive with everyone in the metro area applying to that school. I'm so surprised they don't take more students -- it's kind of ridiculous actually.
Anyway, I'm on the waiting list at Canadian Valley in El Reno now and about to start their link to nursing program, which will count towards the LPN. It averages about 18 months time for completion, including the link program, so hopefully I'll be back working in about 1.5 years and on my way to completing an RN bridge program.
Hey!
Sorry to hear you didn't make it in. But hopefully the one in El Reno, you will!!:wink2: Everywhere you goes is very competitive. It took me four times applying everywhere until I finally got into francis tuttle's 1+1 program for this fall.. I was surprised that I got accepted, because everywhere you apply is highly competitive.... Do you have all of your prerequisites out of the way for RN? Hope to hear back from you!!
