Question for Ecpi graduates!!!

Published

Good evening everyone,

I am currently a student at Ecpi in Raleigh and it was just brought to my attention that when its time for me to bridge to an RN program, that I may have to start all over because none of ECPI credits will be accepted. Is this true? Has anyone graduated from Ecpi and had problems bridging over to an RN program? And if u did bridge where did you attend??

Hey Candy! I actually asked this same question to a friend of mine who graduated in June and has just started fall classes towards his RN. Of course I'm in VA, but from what another student (who actually transferred from NC to here when her hubby moved) told me the transition programs are fairly similar. You won't need to retake any LPN courses. The only thing you'll need are your pre-reqs. A&P and microbiology or perhaps chemistry depending on what school you chose and if you took Chem in high school. Also math and English classes, as they're what's required for an associates degree. Your hours and experience in LPN school and work should shorten your ASN curriculum from almost three years (two years of nursing and 2 semesters of pre-reqs) to around 15-18 months depending on how many pre-reqs you need.

Also, I don't know about your campus- but mine has a bridge program to RN. Not that I necessarily want to (or suggest) spend that much to get my RN from ECPI- but it is an option. :)
