Hello there;
I have an over-the-phone interview with a recruiter from a Psych unit in upstate NY, and I'd like to get some tips on how a typical psych (new) nurse interview would be. I'm soo excited and nervous at the same time.
PS. I also have a BS in Clinical Psych, do you guys think that this will boost my chances of getting this job?
Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on your interview, senfly! I'm sure you BS in psych will be very valuable to you.
I too am a new graduate and I have been offered a position on the youth unit of our local psychiatric hospital. Before my interview, I read their mission and vision statements and did some research into their philosophy and approach to care. In my interview, I made mention of my interest in trauma informed care and the advancing and improving roles and contributions to care that nurses are able to make in psychiatric care settings. I asked them about new programs or developments at the hospital they were excited about and they were very happy to talk about them. I'm really looking forward to my new job there. I think it's a very exciting time in psychiatric nursing.
Best of luck to you!
Thanks Nurse Maru! Best of luck to you too :)
