Hey 07courtney1993!
I was wondering if you could please tell me what the hiring process was like? I'm a new grad from outside of Philadelphia and I'm trying to enter the new grad market anywhere in Oregon. Did you apply to a specific specialty by chance? I also checked out Good Samaritan in Corvallis and I feel like they only want rns who went back for their bsns. Peacehealth rn residency program in Bellingham is too far for me. I'm also considering evergreenhealth up in kirkland, washington. I don't think St. Charles in Bend has a residency program. I would appreciate any advice~
Hi Shareberry!
I've been interviewed at every hospital system in Portland and have yet to land a job. The market for new grad nurses is competitive, especially if you don't have your BSN. I haven't really had the opportunity to interview for a specific specialty. It seems like they interview you for any position they have open at the time. Here are a couple links to residency programs in Portland. All of them won't open again for a couple more months.
Portland Adventist:
RN Residency Program - Portland, Oregon(OR) - Adventist Health
Legacy Health:
RN Residency Program
Salem Health:
RN Residency | Residencies | Salem Health
Providence St. Vincent is currently hiring 49 new grads into various units (surgery/medical/cardiology/float pool). That interview process is over though unfortunately.
Like I said before it's going to be very hard to even land an interview without a BSN. I know someone with an ADN who recently landed a Rehabilitation job.
Let me know how job hunting goes for you!
