proper way to apply for a nursing job? new grad.

Should I JUST be sending in my resume and cover letter? and in my cover letter, do I tell them in the last paragraph that a list of references will be made available for them to bring to an interview? or do I include the phone numbers/names of my work/volunteer history on my resume for them to call?

should I include letters of recommendation? I wanted to include a letter from the nursing home I volunteered at. do I give that with my resume and cover letter? or do I make this available on time at interview?

I understand to bring copies of everything to an interview too, and to then thank them by following up with a thank you letter.

Also, in regards to applying electronically via the internet, do you recommend doing that? Or should I make the effort to visit the hospital and try to hand my items in person? I am a new grad, with no previous medical work history, besides volunteering at a nursing home (playing games, etc. with elders.) I'm just nervous that my resume won't stick out. And for some reason, I am paranoid of the internet, I'd sleep better at night knowing someone really received my resume, haha.

Thanks for reading.

At my hospital, if you show up at Human Resources looking for a job, they will sit you down in front of a computer to fill out the online application.

Do whatever the hospital wants you to do. If you are not sure what they want, call them and ask them. Call the Nurse Recruiter and ask them to tell you about their process. Follow that process ... but also follow-up any Internet applications with a hard copy letter and resume.

hi, i just want to ask how did you finally got a job? i have same concerns as well in applying to hospitals. Got the same dillemmas if to go on for an online application or to give it in person. Im a new grad and would love to here from u!:) tnx in advance..
