Both of those positions are basically upper management, overseeing and running entire programs and overseeing dozens of people. Have you checked to see if you meet the minimum requirements to apply? Im thinking they might prefer someone with supervisory and leadership experience. Both of these positions carry a lot of power and major decision making about policies, program plans, hiring, firing, etc. You could call for more information on duties.
Both of these positions would carry great stress from the responsibility of the job. My boss is a program manager and we talk often about all the BS she has to do. I hope Im not coming off as discouraging you, just sharing what I know! There are tons of low stress desk jobs in public health - keep looking! But both of those are upper management positions that would have lots of stress related to administrative stuff and politics of healthcare systems. It may be worth it to apply and interview if you are looking for a leadership role. good luck!
Surely I don't know how to utilize this website, i have been coming to read more stuff but now i read your reply, so late but I cannot miss saying thank you. I ended up not applying for those two jobs just like you mentioned there will be lots of stress. I kept my current job as PRN and still looking:) thank you.

I checked two jobs posted from state health department and trying to understand what they are. One is "Program Administrator, health service" and the other one is "Community health nurse program supervisor".
I am trying to understand what do they do? Job descriptions are relativley short and broad. I googled and searched but have not find good answer.
I have BSN and I worked in Rehab, Nursing home, seasonal flu shot nurse and Hemodialysis outpatient for last 8 years and I am getting so tired. I am looking for a job,,, regular job, work in the desk, off weekend and holidays, regular hours, not like 14 hours, jobs I can relatively relaxed...I am wondering if this job is the kind.
Thank you so much in advance.
