I am an RN and I would love to get out of nursing all together. I just got a Bachelor Degree in Business Mgmt but not sure where to go from here. I work on the telemetry floor right now. Thanks!

Am I missing something here? Why did you apply at the first school if you are going to decline??? Why not accept? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Why wait for the second school and then have them possibly turn you down and then you would not have any school to go to.

I guess you have already given up! Why? Who cares if nobody ever passes it. There is a first time for everything. The instructor told me to drop out of the program. There was NO Way that I would pass because I would have to make a 91 to pass the class. I made a 93. I did it and so can you! Don't throw in the towel yet!!! :idea:

I have been going through the same thing. I tried to talk to the PCA multiple times. She is always offended and starts yelling. After the third time, I called our floor manager and talked to him about the problem. One being that she did not tell me about a b/p of 70/30. Anyway, nothing was done and I am still having problems. So I talked to the manager again, and used words he would understand. Example, someone is going to DIE and then there will be a LAWSUIT. It is a very HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT when a PCA is yelling at me in the nurses station in front of drs. She is starting to get better. It is ridiculous the way the PCAs are allowed to get by with things and nothing gets done until someone is ready to quit.

I would think they probably messed up at birth. I guess you could have it drawn again to find out. The next time might be another type! :)

Study for the test you went to school to take! Why work and take all the stuff you learn with you to the exam? You need to try again ASAP while it is fresh in your head. Do not take the PN exam. You will get comfortable with that and not go on for your RN. JMHO

That is extremely dangerous to have 10 patients. I would not put my license on the line with that many patients for any amount of $$$.

I am as close to KY as you can get and still be in IL. Where are you located? Have you heard of Metropolis, IL?

I would definately get a transfer. You get to retire after only 20 years. You might get a sign on bonus but you have to think about retirement benefits and with the VA there are alot of benefits.

It sounds like you work with some real winners! So now nurses are letting patients suffer. Sounds like something new to me! Mel :)

When we all start with the same amount of patients, I am always assigned first admit. There has not been one shift in the past three months that I have has an equal or less amount of patients. I always have more "acuity points" than any other nurse on the floor. Last night, we started with 6 patients total and ended the night with 9 total. I started with three, one nurse had two, the other nurse had one. I ended the night with six patients. I KNOW EXACTLY how you feel. I am glad I read this. I am so sick of the charge nurse that does this to me. I am going to take the advice given here and look for a transfer. Thanks! Mel :) :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire
