  1. My whole point is: if we are pushing and mandating vaccines for COVID, because COVID puts other people at risk and strain on our health system. We should do the same with other diseases / conditions.
  2. Our whole system is based on “sick care”. You’re fat? OK we have a pill for that! There is an interest but whatever is being done is obliviously not working. We keep getting bigger and fatter as a nation.
  3. It’s the same concept. Sounds like your logic or critical thinking is absent. We are being told to get a vaccine to protect ourselves and those around us, correct? Same can be applied to HIV. I worked in HIV clinic and know that majority of HIV+ infections in this country come from unprotected gay sex. Per CDC: “Men who have sex with men (MSM) remain the group most heavily affected by HIV in the United States”. https://www.CDC.gov/nchhstp/newsroom/docs/factsheets/new-hiv-infections-508.pdf COVID is a bigger problem and most people that end up in the hospital with severe COVID are already sick to begin with. Mostly obese and diabetics, mostly self inflicted conditions. “Obesity and diabetes are two major risk factors for COVID‐19 hospitalization People with Obesity and Diabetes are at higher risk for severe illness” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7645952/ Having worked in COVID ICU for the past year, I have not seen a single person without some sort of chronic condition. Vast majority of our patients are obese with multiple other issues. What should we do with Obese and Diabetics since they’re endangering us and putting a huge strain on our healthcare system?
  4. I get that. My whole point is that we are a country with certain freedoms. People should have a freedom to choose what they do with their body. You work in public health and probably deal with a lot of people that don't make good choices. Should we ban gay sex again? It endangers other people who don't have HIV / AIDS. Should we force them to take their antivirals and shun them if they don't? Should we ban alcohol so people don't drink and drive and put other people at risk? My family members were killed by a drunk driver. I can go on and on and on about this.
  5. That was the best article with evidence based research you just shared. You should really be proud of yourself.
  6. Using the same logic, if hybrid immunity is better and if vaccines are so effective then vaccinated shouldn’t be afraid of catching COVID because it will only help their immunity to be stronger. But that is not what I’m seeing. Why are most people on the left who are vaccinated are so afraid of COVID still? They keep screaming and demanding that others be vaccinated.
  7. Little sheep keep repeating and regurgitating what you hear on CNN. "Unvaccinated are indefensible"? What about those with previous infection who have natural immunity? Study out of Cleveland Clinic confirmed that "Individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection are unlikely to benefit from COVID-19 vaccination" https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.06.01.21258176v2 Study out of Israel: "This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity" https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.24.21262415v1
  8. If you read my post in context, you will see what I'm saying. My whole point was that vaccination alone is not going to help us stop this pandemic, there are more things that we can and should be doing.
  9. Am I missing something? I didn't exactly reply to your scientific paper with well defined parameters. Nursing scientist.
  10. From 96% to 84% over six months. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.07.28.21261159v1
  11. Mainstream media, white house scientists and their followers seem to think that we can achieve a herd immunity for this virus. With more data coming out recently you can tell that it's not going to happen. There are a lot of reasons. 1. COVID is rapidly mutating and might render vaccines ineffective after several mutations 2. Vaccine effectiveness drops after 6 months 3. From latest data it appears that current vaccines do not prevent transmission. 4. Uneven vaccine distribution throughout the world. There are simply not enough doses to vaccinate everybody in the world and with global travel coronavirus will just keep mutating and spreading. Thinking that vaccination will solve this problem is not smart. There needs to be a multiprong approach. Vaccines, antivirals, monoclonal antibodies, and other therapies. Pushing and mandating vaccines is going to have opposite effect on people that don't think they're safe and will only exacerbate this problem.
  12. I'm not at all surprised that half of our population doesn't want to be vaccinated. They simply don't trust our government and medical establishment. I remember when COVID vaccines were first developed our current Vice President said that she would never take it because they were developed under Trumps watch. Multiple left wing outlets repeated the same thing. Our so called medical experts seem to be advocating for constantly changing science from saying "no you don't need masks" to "you must wear masks" to "two masks are better than 1 mask". We went from "14 days to flatten the curve" to lockdowns for almost a year. Is it any wonder that people don't want to be vaccinated after all these lies?
  13. Former RRT (Respiratory Therapist) for 5 years. Graduated Excelsior in 2010. Graduated with BSN from American Sentinel University. Have been working in Oncology for past 3 years. Will be applying for ICU internship later this year.
  14. Chemocare.com is a very good resource for drugs, we even print drug information sheets for our new patients from there as part of our education.
  15. I find it very interesting that the people who scream the loudest about "leaving your religion at home" don't think that there is anything wrong with speaking profane at work when patients can hear them, talking about their drinking binges, discussing politics when patients are clearly uncomfortable, or sharing their marital/relationship problems with patients by bashing the other side, and there are many other examples.
