Urgent Care Bootcamp/workshop
I have not but before I started my urgent care job (that I quickly left), I found a ton of useful videos free on you tube. There are EM and UC bootcamp videos on Youtube. Just search. I just wish I could get my money back for my DOT cert....

Yes, less, but even with property taxes considered, Texas has no where near the col of San Diego.

I'd say 95-125k in Houston. I had several new grad offers at about 100k. Just saw Austin. Austin is notoriously low paying for nurses and NPs.

new job, can I be denied job for benzo PRN
I take a benzo on occasion for insomnia. I don’t see how any of your RX’d meds are any of their business.

RN's required to be sitters???
Sounds like the sitter situation where I work

RN's required to be sitters???
Y’all who would rather sit must be kidding. When you sit in our hospital, you sit. And stare. For 12 hours. Lucky to get a rr break. Definitely no water or hydration of any kind for 12 hours (only on your lunch if you can get someone to relieve you). The occasional patient physical attack (sitter had to take fmla). The occasional patient jerking off in front of you while being told to simply “turn around” (different female sitter). Yep. Easy money. Sounds like a dream. I called off last time they told me I was going to sit. No regrets.

UT health science center houston clinical sites
You’re welcome. typhon is where you log your clinical experiences as well. when you find a preceptor, if they and their site are not in typhon, you have to apply to get them in typhon. It can take several weeks. Sometimes more if the site is slow with the paperwork. always helps to find a preceptor whose information is already on typhon.

UT health science center houston clinical sites
You find your own preceptors. If, after an exhaustive effort (that you can prove) you cannot find placement, they will assist you--but it's not always guaranteed. Typhon has a list of preceptors who have precepted before, and you contact them. However, it does not mean they are currently accepting students.

Why did you choose your specialty?
Labor & Delivery. I chose it because it was the only specialty that responded to my new-graduate application. Been there 5 years. It's OK. I would love to do ER but I find once you're in a specialty you often get pigeon-holed.
