Yeah, I would check with your local hospitals. Around here they are called nurse fellow or nurse extern. Don't waste your time or money if it's not necessary. Plus, these positions start at higher wages than a CNA.

We don't have any male nurses at my hospital, but there are plenty of male OB/GYN docs. So I don't see it as a problem. The only thing you might run into is cultural concerns. Sometimes a patient does not allow any male in the room.

Not many. Been in L&D for 2 years, have only saw it done 2 times. We do about 2500 deliveries a year.
