What do you so to relax from nursing school?
If I have the free time I enjoy running or hitting the gym to lift! It's a great stress reliever!! Sometimes I will watch shows that I have missed with a glass or 2 of wine! If I'm feeling really ambitious and not overwhelmed from everything, I will start reading for the upcoming week!

ONENOTE ?????????
I've used OneNote on my iPad for my pre-reqs! It seems like you can do so much more on your laptop with it! I used to use EverNote but decided to switch to OneNote last semester after hearing a lot about it! I never used it on my laptop because I didn't know that I even had it! I am going to try it out for my first semester of the program and am really excited! I'm trying to teach myself things and watch little clips online about it!

I Need a Stethoscope
Check out allheart.com they have some good deals on Littmann stethoscopes! I have the Classic II S.E. I am starting my program next week and I have head that everyone swears by this stethoscope! I have the black with smoke finish! I do like the other colors but didn't want it to clash with my red scrubs! You can also get it engraved! It's better to spend the little extra money to be able to hear the sounds you need to hear then not. Plus the Littmann should last you all through school and the start of your career!

Planning to move to a new state after graduation
I too am in this situation as well! I moved temporarily to Kentucky about 3 years ago and decided after I moved I should finish my nursing career! I plan to return back to MI when I complete the program and have to make the decision where I want to take the NCLEX and what state I should apply for a license in. I heard that if you apply for your license in the state you graduate from it is easier and less paperwork to file because the BON has all of that information and then you can transfer your license after you complete your move! Just look into it sometime in your last year/beginning of your final semester of the program to figure out the best option! I plan to wait until then to really look into it and figure out what I need to do! Good luck in the program!

When do you start your fall class?
I start my first semester of nursing school August 26! I am taking Fundamentals, Fundamentals Clinical, Pathophysiology, Health Assessment, and Health Assessment Lab! Each class and clinical/lab are only one day a week so we are allowed 1 day off! Lecture classes and lab are 3 hours long and our clinical class is 6 1/2 hours long!

First Day of Nursing School
I have orientation on August 22 and start classes August 26! I am not sure how long our clinicals will be but we will find out at orientation. I believe we start in a LTC facility in October! I have all of my medical supplies, uniform, lab coat, and shoes already but still need to buy my books and pay for our HESI materials! I am so excited and nervous to start! Good luck everyone!

I'm at Western Kentucky University- Non competitive GPA's BSN
I got into my program with a 3.0 GPA- What to do with nursing school papers?
I'm curious as to what everyone uses as well! I'm starting in the fall and have been trying to decide how many binders and what sizes to buy! I also wasn't sure if I should buy notebooks or if taking notes on my laptop would be sufficient. I've heard from a few people a semester ahead of me that everyone used their laptops for notes but that was because they used ebooks but now they are switching to hard copy again for some reason!!- how to deal with microbiology and human anatomy physiology
Repetition, repetition, repetition is the key to being successful, especially in A&P! Recording lectures may also benefit you! Flash cards will help a lot and even finding blank models and filling in the blanks helps. Typing your notes and making yourself study guides are always useful as well!- Scrubs!!
This is the first year that they are going to be using the performance for BSN. I don't know why they are even letting it be an option if so many are having issues with them in the ADN! I would think that they would have just stuck with the Cherokee uniforms. I also think they would be able to come up with the ADN's alternative quite quickly then! I hope they have another option for all of you this fall!- Struggling with understanding A&P 1
I agree with GrnTea! The coloring books help a lot!! You are retaining more than you think too! When you start talking about other things that will relate to what you have learned you will have one of those ahh ha moments and remember the material! A&P requires a lot of repetition! Good luck!- 26, starting from the bottom, do I really stand a chance???
Sorry about posting twice! It wouldn't work the first time so I tried it again and I guess both posted!- 26, starting from the bottom, do I really stand a chance???
It's never too late to fulfill your dreams, trust me! I'm 24 and just about to start the nursing program! I didn't take school seriously at first when I graduated HS and dropped out for a few years and started over in 2010! I would also like to be a CRNA and have come to terms with probably being in CRNA school when I am almost 30! If this is your passion you will succeed and be ok with being an older non-traditional student! With age comes wisdom and maturity! Stay positive! You can do this!- 26, starting from the bottom, do I really stand a chance???
Never give up on your dreams!! You have plenty of time to fulfill your dream of becoming a CRNA! It's never too late! I'm turning 24 and starting the nursing program in the fall and also want to become a CRNA! I've come to realize that I'm ok with possibly being in my 30s and going to CRNA school! Stay positive, you can do it!- Scrubs!!
- HESI A2 Exam
Math is pretty easy. Know the conversion chart for conversions in the study guide and just know ratios and fractions. Reading comprehension is just reading an article and answering questions about it. Anatomy was pretty much based on the heart, lungs, and brain. You do not need to know all of the bones. Those were the only sections I had to take for my HESI test; I know some people have to take more sections for theirs.- I'm turning 25 soon and I want to be a nurse, am I kidding myself?
I will be turning 24 right after starting the nursing program this fall! I dropped out of college after my first semester of classes in 2007 because I didn't take school seriously and didn't return until 2010 after moving and transferring schools. My classes didn't transfer as equivalents and I pretty much started all over! It is never too late to go back to school and fulfill a dream that you have!! I know plenty of others who are older than me that choose nursing as a career!- Class of 2015
Congrats to everyone starting their program in the fall and being part of the class of 2015! I start my BSN program at the end of August! We can get through this!- Finally finished nursing school!!!
Congrats! Good luck on your NCLEX!- Scrubs!!
that is awesome! I am at WKU as well!! I can't reply back to your private message because I haven't posted enough I think!- When Should I Take The HESI?
Take it after your a&p class unless you have more time now to take it. Majority of my questions were about the heart, in which I learned about in a&p1 and the brain and lungs. There were 1 or 2 questions from a&p 2 on my test as well. Math is fairly simply! It is basically all conversions and ratios! There are fractions on there as well! - Non competitive GPA's BSN
