  1. Check out the videos on fabricpatch.net under "face masks for covid-19 relief".
  2. Leave them at home.
  3. Interesting the people on this site, one in particular, that don't recognize the behavior as bullying, they downright deny that it exists.
  4. Maybe I'm missing something but if the position requires rotating shifts why would they want to hire someone that can't or won't rotate?
  5. Would you be as upset if CNN had reported it?
  6. Good idea! Maybe she should write "this was STOLEN from the nurse".
  7. Who's calling it a prank or a joke? Sounds more like an act of sabotage.
  8. Why not switch, full time at the second job and contingent at the critical care job, best of both.
  9. State retirement, better insurance, great staffing (less stress) vs shorter drive, more money, bad management, short staffing (more stress). May have more money in the future with state retirement, better insurance. Money isn't everything, neither is a shorter drive.
  10. Almost everyone is focused on the cup of coffee and that is not what the OP is concerned about. This is: quote from NurseMom2016 " THIS is the part I am questioning myself about-I told him "no sir, I have already removed everything and you have signed the paper to leave. The cab is on its way to pick you up." He did leave, and had to have assistance from the tech and officer to transfer from a wheelchair to the cab. I had a hard time leaving some of the things he said to/about me at work that day. (I.e. You fata**, you shouldn't be a nurse, f***ing dumb nurse, I could go on). Remember, this man was as oriented as he could be, and was able to hold a calm conversation with others during this time. Probably some undiagnosed psych issues or something. I have never had anyone speak so poorly about me. So, yes I am glad he left within the first 2 hours of my shift, BUT my conscience keeps hanging on three things: one, that he wasn't able to walk on his own and we just sent him on his way. Two, that the foley was there for retention and it was removed almost immediately before he left. And three, that in the end I kind of told him he had to leave (I think he probably would have anyways). Thank you if you have read this whole thing, I tried to condense as much as I could! Let me know what you think, if something could have been handled differently, etc. "
  11. I would be concerned about liability if he said he wanted to stay and then something happened to him after he left. I would have contacted the doctor and see what she had to say about it. CYA.
  12. I was never taught that, about being arrested. I'm curious too, what language did she use to provoke agitation. Even if she did, he should have had and kept himself under control.
  13. I'd like to see what was redacted. So they were in violation of policy. Now what, a slap on the wrist? í ½í¹ƒ
  14. I know what you're talking about. Had that experience at an HCA hospital that I was going to. (like snarling wolves) I finally refused to go there and found somewhere else to work. I later heard (at the new place) that nurses at the HCA hospital would scream at each other. Leaving is probably not an option for you. I don't have anything useful to offer, but I can certainly empathize.
  15. I'd completely ignore it. She's trying to get a rise out of you, don't give her the satisfaction. Just give her a laugh.
  16. Well, at the bottom of the article it shows it's from the East Bay Times which has the exact same information, different picture, so I don't know what difference it would make that it is on a religious website, if it's factual information. As far as the name, I guess people do make mistakes. By the way, it's butt heads.
  17. What does being a religious web site have to do with it? Are they supposed to be infallible when it comes to typos or spelling errors? Or are you finding two separate things interesting?
  18. I don't see it that way. Why shouldn't a supervisor deal with it, look at all the time the nurse was away from her unit and patients.
  19. Judge: Oakland teenager may not be brain dead after all I thought this paragraph was interesting: "An attorney for the family is arguing Jahi is alive and therefore entitled to more than the cap of $250,000 on medical malpractice lawsuits involving children who die as a result of surgery."
  20. Interesting comments. What does SMACSS mean? I didn't think she was being a "crusader nurse", I thought she was just following policy which also happened to be the law.
