  1. Welcome to adulthood. Birthdays aren't a reason to miss work.
  2. Do both. You might have to take a semester off when you give birth but I don't see why you couldn't go to nursing school and do clinical while pregnant. Good luck to you.
  3. This is definitely an important lesson. My mother-in-law told me to use CBD oil (she has a masters in bioinformatics) for headaches, I told her that is was a very unregulated market and some THC might be in the oil so I don't want to risk my nursing licsense. She told me not to believe everything I read. ? Am I going to risk it? Nope.
  4. Pulled this from Texas BON Go ahead and do 20 CEUs ASAP: I like this provider. https://www.netce.com/specials.php Delinquent Renewal If you do not renew your license before it expires, it will go into delinquent status. A nurse whose license has expired will be required to show proof of continuing competency. If your license has been delinquent for less than four years, you may renew by submitting proof of having completed 20 contact hours of acceptable CNE or a current approved national nursing certification in your prior area of practice within the two years immediately preceding application for relicensure and by meeting all other Board requirements. You will be exempt from the continuing competency requirements for the immediate licensing period following renewal of the delinquent license with the exception of the Forensic Evidence Collection [Board Rule 216.3(d)] targeted continuing education requirement, if it applies based on the nurse's practice.
  5. I wish I could be more help. I always assumed they'd provide a place to upload required documents.
  6. How long have you had your license? Use your graduation date/transcripts if you weren't required to do the continuing education. Otherwise, you're expected to have the 20 CEUs before you renew.
  7. Thank you Allnurses and congratulations to all the winners. I started my journey here before I had taken one nursing pre-req and this group helped me from pre-nursing, throughout nursing school and as I've grown as a nurse over the last 10 years. I'm humbled.
  8. That's not how criminal cases work. There was enough evidence to remove reasonable doubt. It's just so obvious Trump's fans are just too unreasonable themselves to see it.
  9. In my nursing school, the graded assignments (projects, research papers, group work, etc.) only got counted if your exam scores averaged 73% or better. It was a lot of fluff work, but it helped bring grades up as long as you passed your exams. There was a couple semesters of me biting my nails until the last couple of days waiting for the final exam scores.
  10. Thank you for your service. Relatively speaking, many of us can never understand the trauma experienced during war and I really don't think the OP meant to downplay what 'true' torture is like.
  11. Any apartments in the medical center are going to be expensive. Honestly, rent in general is very expensive these days.
  12. Try and implement a pass system. They have to come with a pass from the teacher that includes the student's name, the teacher's name, and what the complaint is. No pass, back to class (unless a true emergency). If they were able to walk unattended to your office, it's not immediate. NEVER let the teachers just send kids willynilly. If teachers have to actually go out of their way to send the child with a pass, it will cut down on some of the nonsense visits. Recess injuries are usually because their not being monitored correctly.
  13. It's a pretty easy pump to use once you get used to it. Infinity-Reference-Card.pdf
  14. I'm shocked the parents gave her a tampon without any instructions on how to use it. And a 4th grader? Poor thing. I agree allowing her to sit out is the thing to do.
  15. I think it depends on the state but in Texas private schools can pretty much do whatever they want. If the child needs an ARD/504 they will send to home public school for the testing and IEPs but there is no way to know if they're providing services or not. The parent needs to advocate. As a nurse, follow the BON and don't let them try and get you to work beyond your scope of practice.
  16. I know people who let their license expire and went back just for refresher and retake NCLEX.. but I haven't known any that graduated and didn't take the NCLEX shortly after graduating.
  17. May I ask why you waited 3 years after graduating nursing school to take the test? I suspect you've lost a lot of what you were taught. Look into nurse refresher courses offered in other states, maybe that will be your ticket for not having to redo nursing school. Good luck to you.
  18. Stickers. They love stickers.
  19. I would let it go. And communicate with her just like any other parent.
  20. Independent thought? All I have read is far right wing news talking points.
  21. You recognize he's done despicable things yet you will vote for him. Shows your own 'values' are pretty despicable. The bar for the highest office in the world has been buried six feet under.
  22. May I ask what the incident was that led to your being kicked out of the program?
  23. I really think your experience working in psych hospitals and education makes you a great candidate for MHNP.
  24. Look up schools in your area and find out what rereqs and grades they require to be admitted into nursing school. It's a process, you have to start at the beginning.
  25. Is this T1D or T2D? Ideally, any teacher that has contact with student should know if the student is being treated for diabetes and know what to look for (highs/lows).
