rotator cuff surgery
Is anyone familiar with rotator cuff surgery? How do patients usually do postop? Manage with showering, etc. From what I have read, it sounds like they are pretty limited and have a long recovery.

80 or 89

Nursing has made me dislike dealing with people in general....
I hear you! My opinion is that the general public should be darn grateful that there are people that are willing to do this work.

Need your policy on CANCELLATION
We weren't given a choice, just put on call. No on call pay. Sometimes we would even be canceled after driving all the way into work, with no compensation. Wonder why there is a shortage of workers?

How much did you start as a nurse and when.

Along the same vein, days dumps on evenings and then evenings has to stay late to get it done, can't leave it for nights since night shift is actually the start of another day (at midnight).

Inciden Report Etiquette
- Rumors!!!!
I wanted only days working agency, (not in Tennessee) and did not get even one shift. I ended up working evenings because that was what the need was, and the only way that I could get any hours.- Rumors!!!!
Could it be because you only want days?- New Nurse - safe practice question
protonix is given IV push where I work- Come to America to Have your Baby!!
Same thing back in the 70's, in Hawaii, rich women would fly in from Hong Kong, or arabian princesses with their entourages would fly in, so their kid would be an American citizen. Maybe they should change the law so that the parents have to be citizens first before their kid can be.- What do I do? (long)
That is a very good point. I guess it depends on whether or not you want to do someone elses dirty work. I decided years ago I didn't, it leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. I agree with the rest of DusktilDawn's post.- How far do you commute to work?
I've worked at places both near and far (eight hour shifts), the farthest was probably a 45 minute drive.- New grad just got fired
What is your age group? Do you think that might have come into play in some way, particularly if you have a lot of life experience? Go and apply somewhere else as if that would be your first job. Good luck!- Need Some Advice
I agree, you should get your BSN and your husband should get a job!- Lantus part II, oh how I want to scream!
What was the blood sugar at 2200, before the lantus was given?- Wanting to make this nightmare get better
I'd quit.- I can't find a job!!!!! AHAHHA
Keep calling them back and ask about the status of your application. Good luck!- Getting Paid $$ for End-of-Shift Overtime?
Oh, and it's not just new grads, some places are so understaffed and overworked that all the staff is staying a couple of hours over to chart. It has nothing to do with the individual nurse's time management skills.- Getting Paid $$ for End-of-Shift Overtime?
I think that is against labor laws. Hospital would be in big trouble if reported to the labor board, and would probably have to pay back overtime, I would think. - Rumors!!!!
