Fat Lpn Student
I am so sorry that people are treating you badly I have had problems with weight myself I am by no means skinny . I am very curvy or plump for better words I wear my weight with pride at 150 and 5'5 people gawk at me because I am not your typical skinny girl aka malnurished type. My DH is a trim latin hotty he is significantly different in size then me. But loves me and embraces my curves and womanly figure . I say who GIVES a RATs behind what people perceive you , your beautiful no matter what they say or the looks they give. Keep your chin up and get school finished and move on to better future as a fresh new nurse . And be a advocate for us real girls with curves and be proud of who you are !!!!!!

How do you center yourself before a shift?
When your body is physically centered your mind will follow right behind it . Just do what makes you get up and go .... get sleep , some food in your stomach. Walking helps me gather myself and get my witts back in check. I have a daughter who is will soon be a year old . And always find myself going a mile a minute , but thats when I have to just breath and regroup . It will all come to you in time good luck !!!!

BSN RN & Certifications not allowed on my badge: I am outraged!
Sharpeimom!!! You are wonderful I can tell you are true example of a dedicated RN , regardless of what degree you have obtained. You do what is required of us in this profession with a humble heart :bowingpur We should all have this frame of mind!!!

BSN RN & Certifications not allowed on my badge: I am outraged!
Whats the difference if a RN has bachelors degree or a associates I find it offensive that you have such an issue with titles its like you are suggesting that a nurse with a bachelors degree is superior over a ADN RN. They do the same job and scope and test. If you feel that you need to have everyone know that you have BSN degree then maybe you should have it tatooed to your forehead. That would solve the problem right quick now wouldn't it . I think your decision to walk out on a job because you can't have BSN on your badge is foolish.

CNAs and weight
This whole topic is ludacris , People magazine is a tabloid magazine . So who gives a rats behind what they think about NA's its HARD work they have no idea what they are talking about. And also lower income does not equal obesity I have seen HUGE nurses that have a bachelors degrees and they are WAY to heavy . I personally work in home care and I AM not obese by any means so please stop stereo typing anyways statistics are so vague and irrelevant. So don't judge until you have walk in the shoes of nursing assistant!!!!!
-
Does this annoy you too?
To the OP are you RN or a CNA? just curious.....

-
any nurse assistants working for a agency ????
I was just curious about how many people work in a agency setting . I really enjoy working in a in-home care setting . I find it rewarding and being appreciated and receiving positive feed back on the progress I make with my clients . I am just expressing my happiness with my new career and soon I will enrolling in a LVN program

An Atheist Outnumbered by Christians at Work (an ethical dilemma)
My message is in general response to all issues that arise with religion in the workplace. I have had it out with many co- workers on religion its like beating a dead horse . In my opinion just don't go there, respect people and how they conduct there lives at home. I don't know why people think its ok to go up to someone and ask if they believe in this " so and so " religion.
-
An Atheist Outnumbered by Christians at Work (an ethical dilemma)
Well here is my opinion keep your religious views at home be a professional and get the job done. Work is a public setting people have there beliefs but that does not give you a right to enforce your beliefs at work. Stay neutral and respect each other this is the best policy.

san diego
I just have to say San Diego is insanely hard to get a job here our unemployment is up to 10% almost to 11% .So please get either a job before you make a serious move and or rethink the move altogether .

"Fired for NO Reason"
Maybe she just was not cut out to be a nurse , some people just DON'T get it all people have an issue with this at some point in there life. Unfortunately it was too late for her to realize that about herself. Maybe it took her to be fired for her to get awake up call if she even did but it sounds like she still doesn't understand.

Every Nurse Should Give Birth
Just because one person didn't receive adequate care does not mean all healthcare professional/ workers treat there patients and clients with disregard for there pain and concerns. And also childbirth its not an accurate comparsion to someones pain. In fact my labor and pushing the whole process overall was less painful then my full blown kidney infection. And yes I had a lady partsl birth and I labored at home for 2 days. Thats my perspective and I apologize for your bad experience.

Nursing Supervisor Problems
There is nothing worst then a woman who thinks shes all that and a bag of potatoe chips. And to make it even worse she is put in positions of power, I think what you did was appropiate. And as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with setting her straight and telling her how you feel. And going to upper levels of management to take care of her and attitude. You go Girl!!!!
