  1. CUNY says they have a practicum. In my history on nursing that means in person training. How is it all online if you have a practicum or is this something totally different? I am currently at Chamberlain, with a scholarship BTW and military discount.
  2. People learn in different ways. Some people are visual learners, so people are hands on and others can get all they need from listening to lecture. I found that it is required to do the assigned readings. In all my adult learning I have been an A student, but to keep that A it has taken the extra work. I take what I get from the lecture and the readings and figure out how it works together. Plus I am a big "why" person. Why does it work like that? So I do pursue those questions on my own.
  3. I am loving my first semester back with RN-BSN through Chamberlain. I work night shift, 12 hours shifts, from home. I have time to dedicate to school and work. Making my kids proud, so far 6/8 weeks down and still hanging with 94%
  4. One of the advantages of working from home. I may fall asleep on the way to bed, but where ever I fall I will be in comfort of my own home. LOL!
  5. I have to agree with this statement. I'm tired of masks. I'm tired of not being able to go on my AK cruise. I'm tired of not being able to see friends and give them great big hugs. I'm tired of meeting someone and not being able to shake their hand. I'm tired of this being an "us vs them" issue. It should not be political. It should be national. We should all want to work together to kick this thing in the butt. Along with the credit score business. As long as your friends income to debt ratio is still good and he is at least making the minimum payment he is keeping the credit score going up. If he ever misses a payment with that kind of debt his score will probably take a huge hit.
  6. I can not stand coffee. I've been told for about 40 years since starting school that one day I would love coffee. Nope! Still in school and working full time and 5 kids and 4 grandkids. Still no to coffee. My go to when I was younger, was Mountain Dew and Buggles. Now that I am so much older and so much heavier, I have to deal with my 0 calorie sucky candy (just mints with 0 calories) and black tea, or sugar free Tang after 11pm so that I can go to bed at 8am.
  7. Even though I go to an online school we are all required to be vaccinated. My work has not stated one way or the other. It is a non contact position. I recently had to place my Mom in a LTC facility. One CNA came in and just scared the crap out of my Mom. She told us, that she will never get the vaccine, they can test her every day. She has had Covid, it wasn't a big deal, and the vaccine is no good. Only God makes the decision whether it's your time to go. She told my Mom (who has been vaccinated) the vaccine is worthless. Oh the uninformed.
  8. When your wallpaper is talking
  9. I do not feel bad when I am off. I earned my time off. I have picked up extra shifts when needed. I do feel guilty a bit when I take PTO. It is sometimes hard to cover 12 hour night shifts.
  10. I voted no. I really don't care what people think. I'm too old for that kind of drama. They know I have a bad attitude. I have had many jobs. If I say something towards an old employer, what are they going to do? I don't think the current employer cares. As far as any personal posts, I am pretty much an open book. Want to know something about me? Ask me. I'm proud of all my scars. It is what I did to get where I am.
  11. I am finishing up my BSN, I plan to at least work for a year, so that I am in the clear for not having to pay back the tuition reimbursement. I want to travel when I retire. Maybe a travel agent would be fun!
  12. I was bullied. I had excellent math skills, which made me nerdy. I also am a big girl. My junior and senior years not so much.
  13. It looks like depending on census it could be legit. LICENSED STAFF (RN, LPN/LVN) For 1-59 licensed beds: 1 RN/LVN 24 hours/day For 60-99 licensed beds: 1 DON RN Day Full Time (may not be charge nurse) and 1 RN/LVN 24 hours/day For 100+ beds: 1 DON RN (may not be charge nurse) and 1 RN 24 hours/day DIRECT CARE STAFF 3.2 hprd Do not double hours of RNs/LPNs and exclude hours of DON. I found this at : https://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/nursing_home_staffing_standards_in_state_statutes_and_regulations.pdf
