  9. Sorry to hear about Blue Cross!! I am very shocked.. Wonder if all offices are the same.. Guess at this time I won't be applying there. :redbeathe:nurse:
  10. Thank you... Do you know much about either company that you list for case management?? I live in Maryland and have been thinking of switching fields and going into CASE MANAGEMENT.. Wonder if you have to have experience in CM to get started with them.. I have 5 years OR experience, school nurse experience, long term care, and 13 years pediatric private duty home care. I still work PRN in the OR and peds home care.. Seven months ago a took a postion with medassurant doing chart review and medical coding. I really do not like this. Surprised to hear the bad things about Blue Cross because they currently have a opening for a peds CM:D.. I do believe that I would thrive in CM that also involved visits etc. instead of strictly telephonic. The add recently in advance for Informed sounds like you would be doing your CM work over the internet?? Thank you in advance for any information you may have... And thanks for your post.. :redbeathe:nurse:
  11. :redbeathe :nurse:Hello.....just wondering how the new job was going????? Thanks a lot!!!

  13. :DHello... was just curious: Why does mileage make all of the difference? YOU make a lot extra for this? Does is sound WAY off to you guys... I was recently told by a friend that a friend of hers just took a hospice position in the Baltimore, MD area for 85K per year, with a laptop and blackberry??? HOw does that sound to you all... Thanks a lot.... To original poster.... HOPE it all works out........... Sounds like they need to pay you much more:nurse::redpinkhe:nurse:... And thanks again...
  14. Thank you!!
  15. Does your company offer benefits???????????? Thanks in advance for your reply...:redbeathe:nurse:
  16. Sorry that this has happend to you... It isn't nice at all. So what does the co-worker have to say about it? Just use this as a learning experience. Next time (if there is a next time), handle it yourself. And remember, what goes around comes around.... Take care.... take a deep breath... It will be okay......
  17. Hello look on the military/gov. forum...... There is a thread that might interest you on the subject matter...:redpinkhe:nurse:

  19. Hello: I have thought of doing this myself.... Not possible for me at this time though. But, maybe one day. I wonder if this is the same mercycorps that is the huge ship that travels around.... If so I tried about 3 times about a year ago... With no response. They were at that time looking for OR nurses.. Good luck to you......:redpinkhe
  20. So... so.. sorry about your Mom... YOU will get through this. It will make you even stronger than you already are. Good luck to you with the rest of your studies. Before you know it you will be sitting to take your NCLEX... Please know that other care about you.... God bless & huggs to you..
  21. Did you find any answers to your questions?? thanks.....
  22. :DHello there: I am in MD too. I may try to get into the Army, but it will be a LONG shot..... to say the least... My thoughts are if it is meant to be than it will happen. It is a shame that you didn't commision before you entered BSN program. YOU could have been in the STRAP program where you get $1,900.00 stipend each month until you graduate. It is said that you wouldn't deploy during school either. KEEP trying........... It will happen for you...:heartbeat:D
  23. Beachbummer: Good luck to you... It sounds like you really have a good plan figured out for YOU. It seems you are aware that it may take some time to reach your end goal... That is okay... YOU will reach it if you so desire. From what I have read through the years, you will gain a lot of experience, skills, confidence and knowledge being a corpsman. I pondered the thought of going in the Navy after becoming an RN (was LPN for 8 years). But for me it didn't make sense to be enlisted in Navy when I could be an officer (reserve) in the ARMY. If you have your BSN you will have more options as far as which service you wish to enter. I don't know what state you live in or if your state accepts it or not: but have you considered EXCELSIOR college (excelsiorcollege.edu) If you are looking for a challenge check out excelsior. YOU may be able to get your ADN-BSN more rapidly than you think. Check out the distance education threads here on all nurses. Yahoo also has numerous support groups for people that are going through excelsior and other distance programs. It is also VERY possible for you to clep/dantes a lot of your general ed classes. Lets say you want to clep American History: I bet if you studied the material you could take the clep exam and pass in a matter of weeks... There is a website, instanstcert.com that helps prepare you for clep/dantes exams. They also have a forum instantcertforumonline that you can search a specific exam, lets just say ethcis, and former students have posted to help you pass your test. What materials they have used etc. to pass their tests. So there is another challenge for you. Check out the ways to get some of your college classes under your belt quicker and cheaper than the traditional route. I did it and so can you. Dantes exams used to be only for military personal, but now any one can take them.. Good luck to you in your journey.
