  1. Is this an essay question?
  2. I said the same exact thing to a patient a few years ago. And he said he would hire somebody to wipe his but. Lol
  3. I dropped dozens of f bombs when I was coming out of anesthesia. It didn't even cross my mind that I might have been offending someone because I hurt like crazy. I don't normally use foul language but I'll probably do it again if I'm faced with the same situation.
  4. Yup. I got a hell of a lot of dates. I don't think it's because of my career but more of the fact that I make decent money and am independent.
  5. Tpapn usually gives a second chance. Unless you've used up your second chance, I wouldn't give up on it.
  6. Isn't it the ultimate responsibility of the nurses to make sure the residents are being taken care of? Do the best you can and the rest should fall on the nurses. Either they can straighten out the lazy coworkers or be held responsible for their non action. Am I right?
  7. Tpapn won't drop you for one missed call in. Definitely find some legal help.
  8. What? Your "rabbit"?
  9. Doesn't make any sense. If there is nothing more to this, then you're fine. Don't worry too much about it.
  10. I live in Texas and I just can't imagine not getting hired after 300 apps.
  11. I don't know if anyone else has said this on this thread, but my gross out is cleaning a poopy patient and having to dig in the lady parts to get it all out. yuck
  12. I don't understand why ANYONE would need methadone for 9 years. Someone please explain. Thanks.
  13. Tipping of nurses is allowed in Mexico. I had weight loss surgery there and they LOVED being tipped. But as far as I know, in the US, it is NOT allowed.
  14. They do not see themselves as 'victims' when they're caught. I can say this because I was there once, 10 years ago. I was guilty and also glad that I finally was forced into treatment. Life has been so much better since and there's no telling where I would be now if it had continued. I was NEVER 'tourturing' my patients. They NEVER went without the pain meds that were ordered for them. Those are some very harsh blanket judgements that are not correct.
  15. You said he's afib, is he on a blood thinner?
  16. I was a correctional officer at a maximum security men's unit. Two years. Yuck.
  17. I had a gastric sleeve performed on me and took 3 weeks off. Five months later I had a hysterectomy and was able to take 6 weeks and collect short term disability. My employer does not have 'light duty' positions. I would've went back after 3 weeks or so if I didn't have some kind of $$ coming in. I guess it all depends on how desperate you are to return to work.
  18. I look through the "what's new" feed and keep seeing posts of nursing students who failed their NCLEX. Is the test getting harder? I remember that my graduating class had only one student that failed NCLEX. Are schools graduating people who are not ready for the test?
  19. And "selfish loser"
  20. Emergent, this person needs help. You may have very well saved their life.
  21. Thank you for sharing :) and I have to agree, don't let this go on until someone gets hurt or dies.
  22. Stick with the facts when you report it. Don't go on about your suspicions, that could get you into trouble. Let management investigate, you don't have to prove anything. What you're doing is making it clear you won't witness unless you actually see the waste. Also, that your coworker pulls out drugs for your patients without you asking him/her.
  23. I see they put her shirt over her trach. Hmmm
  24. Keep your head up!
  25. My only advice is to go on the tx bon website and read what others have been handed down. Until you get a notice saying your license is suspended then keep working. Definitely go to AA, start over 90/90 and have proof that you're doing this. Hire an attorney in Austin that has experience working with the board.
