  5. Hi guys! I passed NCLEX already and I am/was a JUne 06 NLE passer and I took the whole NLE exam JUne 07, do you think i should wait or the NLE result before I can endorse my license? Has anyone done this considering the situation I am in? :) Can I do the Visa screen now? Please advice. Thanks
  6. hi milkshake, Cebu Pacific and Sun kong hostel in causeway bay
  7. The waiting time is killing me, The local exam is way more difficult compared to NCLEX, I passed NCLEX on June 16 and I took NLE Test 1-5. Whew! Thanks Suzanne for the Study Plan. Mwah!
  8. I took my NCLEX on the 16th of June, 2007. I passed and I spent Php 12000 for the airfare and hostel. I booked 3mos in advance right after I received my ATT, I paid Php 8 500 for the round trip airfare tickets, I paid HK $250/night, about $32 a night in a hostel in Causeway Bay and i stayed for 5 days in Hong Kong. I was even able to travel to Macau and China, If you are really on a tight budget, look for a guest house instead. The hostel I stayed is about 3 MTRs away from the Grand Milleneum, about 15 minutes away, so it's not bad really.
  9. Most of my questions are prioritization, delagation, triage and infection control, if you have a solid foundations in these areas, you will surely pass. I was all smiles all throught out the exam, I was so sure I'll pass!
  10. Passed at 75 with 3 select all that apply, NCLEX is relatively easy compared to our local board exam here in the Philippines. I knew right then when I stopped at 75 that I will pass.
  11. NCLEX is alot easier compared to the local board
  12. I am re-taking the whole exam. Personally, Passing the second time around might be easier for two reasons; #1 Confidence(maybe I can do better) #2 Longer exposure to Nursing Concepts (More retention)
  13. Review Centers Advantage: Review Centers boost your confidence. They have a lot of good resources. Test Taking Strategies They entertain youDisadvatage: The travel alone may get you and your pocket tired. The Cost.My Personal Experience: I enrolled in one of the famous Review Centers in Manila. I noticed that the questions they used for the final coaching were taken out from 1 book (except for DOH). The most beneficial part is the Test Taking Strategies. Its kinda funny coz, they gave us exams and checked it after. Almost all of the students got below 75%, what they did is reduced the passing score to 50% just to boost our confidence. Results: I passed. I also have friends enrolled at review centers who failed. And vice versa, friends who did self-review and passed.
  14. I passed the June 2006 and I am taking the June 2007 NLE. Your friend's greatest enemy is panick and jitters. Review Centers just boost your confidence. Just make sure you have the right resources. Stick to what is effective for you in studying (Try recalling the best way you studied for major exams back in college). Good Resources: 1. Fundamentals of Nursing by Udan 2. DOH Book 3. Saunders NCLEX Review or NSNA for MS,Psych,MCN and Pedia 4. Saunders Test Taking Strategies I tried reviewing at a review Center before for final coaching but all they did was boost my confidence.
  15. My Answer to that: My reason for working abroad is primary monetary. 2nd reason is the working environment. I plan to start a family there. It doesn't bother them because getting old is inevitable and better get a head start. And I will only go to a state where I have relatives. Family is the best support group even in better days. I studied in the States back in High School and homesickness is extremely underated. I mean, being homesick can get you temporarily insane! But it can be diverted to better work performance (before it was school).
  16. When I took the June 2006, I thought I failed because of all those subjective questions. My schoolmate, who is a Dentist second courser actually told me that it was easy and even explained how to answer those subjective questions. Turns out, He Failed and I passed!
  17. DOH Book, Fundamentals of Nursing by Mrs.Udan, NCLEX review book for Med Surg (for added interventions) + your school notes. Answer questions and read Rationales.
  18. Alright, I have faith in my fellow June 2006 Board Passers (those who didn't cheat) that we will all pass this retake. The Top Ten of the June 2007 NLE will come from us. Mark my words.
  19. I have a LIfedrive(Palm OS) and I have installed Suanders Q&A, Davis NCLEX, Drug Guides, NANDA, Medical Dictionary, PDQ, mp3 audio lectures and more. Its easier to carry this around than big books. Reviewing can be anywhere. The downside is you have to spend for each program though. If you have money to spare, you won't regret it.
  20. Hi there! what else should i present? i thought no visa is needed. Thanks
  21. Guys, has anyone here have taken or will take NCLEX in Seoul? Im planning to take it from there. I wonder if there had been a Filipino who took her/his NCLEX there? I just want to hear your experiences. Please advise, aside from taking the NCLEX I want to tour Korea that's why Im eyeing my NCLEX there. thanks
  22. Does this mean there is a testing cnter in Singapore?
