I am writing an essay on Privatization of health care, and I was wondering if I could get some input from anyone about the subject. Thanks for your input!

Some thoughts:

Costs: Abuse of public health care system, inability to access private health care system. Might be interesting to discuss in your paper what if people were given a statement itemizing the cost of their health care. Not a bill, but a statement so they know how much it actually cost. Would it be a deterrant, make people think about seeking appropriate care? Private systems may be more cost effective and watch the pennies, but at what expense? How far is too far when cutting costs (staff, equipment, training, health & safety)

Wait times: Short in private system, long in public system. Is it fair that the rich can jump the line?

Staffing: If operating a seperate private health care system, some say it will be secondary to a public system. But at a time when staffing is already so thin, where will the private staff come from? Decreasing public staff even further....

Patient Satisfaction: Private systems will have an interest in ensuring patient satisfaction, so that if they have a choice in the future where they would like to go, that they will return. So, how does this change the health care delivery system?
