Present AO BSN tudents

Those of you that are in the AO BSN program in the Fort Worth or Dallas area, are they still offering any clinical days other than weekends?

UTA does not get to necessarily choose what days clinicals are offered. This is determined by the hospital(s) you do your clinicals at. There is some consistency, such as, my group is Saturday and Sunday for most adult rotations with the exception of Psych which we were assigned Saturday, but had to travel 30 miles out of Dallas for. Pediatrics was Friday and Saturday. There is no flexibility when it comes to these. If you apply as a partnered student your rotations will be done with your hospital (if it's currently offering clinical placement and there is enough spots) or within that hospital system. For example, if Medical city is a system that's partnered and they have rotations at Plano and Dallas, but you work at Medical City McKinney, you'll choose between Plano and Dallas. And if they can't accommodate all of the employees that were accepted, you would rank another hospital/system (with the understanding that their employees would have priority for a spot). Most hospitals must juggle onsite medical residents, multiple nursing school programs from UT Tyler to Brookhaven Community College and then some, plus their GNs. So whatever days we get, is what we get. For our Cohort I've heard most everyone is Sat & Sun, and Mon & Tues. hope that clears up some of the confusion with clinical placement.

Thank you, no confusion on my end! Was curious for the present students and if they had any clinicals on weekdays this semester, I heard they change per semester. Good to hear some of you have Mondays and Tuesdays! Thank you!!
