Preparing to take the Hesi Exam and apply to Watts School of Nursing

Published

Hi! I am applying to go to Watts School of Nursing May 2014. I'm 46 and I have been out of school a really long time. Anyone else trying to get started in May? I'm nervous and anxious but I'm determined. I have wanted to go to nursing school since I graduated from college in 1992. Timing has always been an issue but I have learned timing will never be perfect you just have to take the leap of faith and go for it. I am hoping to connect with some of the rest of you out there who might be going thru the same thing. My Hesi exam review book should get here early next week. I can't wait I am ready to get started. Any pointers from accepted students at Watts would be great! Hope to meet some of you soon.

Hello djstormin,

I am also applying to Watts. I am just now looking into the deadlines. Is it too late now to get in May 2014? I just found out about the Hesi Exam. I just ordered the book for review.

I am 49 and graduated from Elon University in 1987. After wasting 20 years working for Corporate America, I want to do something more meaningful with my life.

Hi, I am registering to take the HESI so I can apply to Watts. I just turned 50. Spent 21 yrs in the AF as a medic and been working the last 2 as a cardiac monitor tech. I went to MOC back in the 80's right after high school and completed all those classes that are pre-reqs back then with the exception of human growth and development. It is good to see that there are some others in my age group making the jump. I thought I was alone.

Hey Everyone. I am also applying to Watts. I have not yet taken the HESI, mainly due to my procrastation of whether I do well or not. I am been studing and preparing myself for about 6months. I not been out of school as long as most of you but kinda like to refresh myself with everything. I have completed all of my pre-req through a local community college. Majority of my studying is coming from Quizlet. I am also looking through my Biology, Chemistry and A&P bookes. Not to mention I have several apps on my ipad that are great especially the HESI exam app. You have thousands and thousands of practice test questions, you can time yourself and it also provides you with an explaination on why you got the question wrong. GOOD LUCK to all of you.

Hey! Thank you for the responses I have been studying the Elsevier book and I take my test Feb 21 at 12:00! I am so ready to get this test over with. Praying I pass. So happy to hear I am not the only student over 40. When I went to the information session they said the May 2014 class was not full yet so I am hoping I can make it in. Good Luck to all of you and do stay in touch! Especially if you get in and decide to go to Watts!
