Hello everyone!!! I know this topic has been discussed plenty, but I am looking for some fresh input **good news possibly** as it relates to the required preceptorship hours required by the BON of Georgia for graduates of non-traditional programs such as Excelsior College. I am trying to transfer my new RN license from NC to GA before the end of the year (fingers crossed). However, I need 320 hours as I have no experience as an RN in an acute care setting before this can occur.
Ideally, I would like to go to a hospital in the Atlanta area- I have been calling and leaving messages for the Ed. Dept. I also contacted the BON to see if they could provide a list of approved sites or at least give me a few options to help narrow down my search-- I was told they do not provide this information.
Has anyone had any luck being placed in a preceptor program lately? If so, where did you go? Was there a wait list? Are there associated fees? How long did it take to complete? Were you able to complete all the hours at one facility?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
