Preceptor Programs--JHow to give a workshop for preceptors

I am looking for info on the internet on how to develop an effective preceptor program...The one utilized at our institution is not working. I would like even a an outlin on how to give a preceptor workshop.

I amvery new to searching the web and am comiong up empty handed......I really do apprectiate any and all help!

I don't know how much help I will be, but I'll try! I am actually a nursing student at Sonoma State University and will graduate this May. I'm not sure if you're asking about preceptors for students or for those who are already RN's. If you are talking about preceptors for students, I'd be happy to give you info on how we do it and how we work with the hospitals. Let me know!

do a lit search...Nursing Staff Development Forum has had numerous articles in past on this topic...doesn't matter if yhou are precepting students, new grads, experienced nurses to a new unit, concepts are all the same. We have been doing preceptor workshops for years. Email me with name and addy and I'd be happy to share our content outline with you .
