WSU BSN Spring 2017

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi everyone!

I applied to WSU's BSN program for Spring 2017 in Spokane. I'm just wondering if anyone else on this site also applied, even if you applied to a different campus? If you don't mind sharing, where do you stand - GPAs, TEAS score, volunteer/work experience, college where you completed your prereqs?

Any advice on the application process would also be helpful! Especially from past applicants who attended or are currently attending WSU's College of Nursing.

I applied to WSU spring 2017 at Spokane campus as well. I would be a transfer student from CO, not sure if I have a good chance. My TEAS test score is proficient, GPA overall 3.8 and I have some volunteering experience in ED plus I'm a MA. Hopefully we will be getting our letters soon. WSU website has date for interview letters to be sent out on October 3-5. We are getting closer to that date.

How about you? are you a transfer student? Is it your fist time applying?

irinkao, I'd say you're a very good candidate especially with a 3.8 GPA!

I'm also a transfer student. I took college courses at a local community college during my last 2 years of high school through the Running Start program, so I was able to graduate with my Associate in Pre-Nursing along with my high school diploma this past June. Both my prereq and cumulative GPAs are in the 3.7 range. My TEAS score is Advanced. I have a good amount of hours volunteering in the ICU/PCU at a hospital, and I currently work as a CNA at an assisted living/memory care facility for residents with dementia.

This is actually my 2nd time applying. I applied for Fall 2016 and was placed on the waitlist, but I didn't get a call before classes started. So you can imagine how nervous and scared I am right now!

Hi,

I applied to WSU Yakima for Spring. I have a 3.75 GPA and got an 86 on the TEAS and I'm also a CMA. I'm currently at WSU Pullman, and we got an email saying the interview letters won't be sent out until next week due to a scheduling conflict.

Thanks for letting us know. Is there any reason why you applied to Yakima rather than Spokane?

I have family in Yakima so it made more sense. I called Spokane campus this morning and they actually said they were going to email us tomorrow instead of sending paper letters!

That's interesting. I wonder if it will be the same for transfer students. Did they say anything about transfer students?
