I am a pre-nursing student that JUST started school back up.
and its probably a long way down the road but I am seriously wanting to look closer at pursuing a direction in Midwifery.
I do not know a lot about this branch of nursing and I am very certain it has its ups and downs, like any nursing in the world does.
but I think I would get a lot of satisfaction out of this kind of work.
to briefly say something about my self I am a 37 year old lady, that like I said is after about 7 years of being out of college is now going back LOL OMG its nothing like what I remember college being like at all LOL.
I am fairly introverted aside from when I am working or going to school, anxiety and ptsd issues mostly
I like spending time reading anything that I have interest in (a lot of non fictions atm) I write, draw and paint in my spare time. As well as knit, I love watching documentaries.
and watching anime and reading manga.
I worked as a HHA in home healthcare for nearly 5 years, and basically want to further my learning.
Thanks for reading.
I hope I can learn some thing on my journey in this group and thanks for having me btw.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I'm a student CNM and L&D RN. I think some things you could do as a pre-nursing student interested in birthwork include looking into becoming a doula or reaching out to any local birth center, hospital OB RNs, or OBGYNs you know to see if they'd allow you to shadow. I fully believe birthwork is something people either LOVE or HATE. I know shadowing for me really solidified my decision to become a CNM.
Good luck!
