Practising in South Korea

Hihi!I'm a SingaporeanWanting to experience and challenge myself working overseas to gain more knowledge and skills.Looking at South KoreaAnyone of you know how can I get the practise license there?The whole process will take how long?What are the chances?Thanks!

The process takes a long time. I'm planning on going there myself, and I'm a Korean citizen with a US BSN RN license and it will still take me over a year to go through the processing to take the national Korean RN exam because I was educated overseas.

I would recommend you to look for information now. The examination is in Korean, is 9 hours long, and covers all different topics such as Maternity, Psych nursing etc. It won't be easy.

The exam is held once every January so if you miss the deadline for application (for foreign educated people the deadline is in May each year), then you'll have to wait a long time before you can register for the test. (so for instance, the next available test date if you were to apply soon would be in Jan 2014.)

As far as I know, it is almost impossible to practice with a non-Korean RN license unless you're a US citizen and will be working in the US army base in Korea.

Also, working as a RN in Korea is not as easy as working in other countries. Unless you're fluent in Korean, your options are limited in terms of employment unless you are fluent in English or Chinese.
