I am working toward starting my BSN after returning form living in Europe. I have a European and US passport and have heavily contemplated moving back after finishing school and stacking some cash again. I speak Italian, German, Spanish and English as of right now (to varying degrees) with Italian being my strongest other language. I have read that you need to have fluency in a native language, and being in Ticino, Italian would not be an issue. I am curious if anyone has had any luck actually having their US RN license recognized over there?
If this turned out to be something utterly painfully difficult to do, I am also open to telehealth! Having both passports working rights are not an issue, but have any of you worked as a telehealth nurse outside the US? Other ideas for US RN to stay in the field while living abroad? My last back-up would be to travel nurse in the US and live in Europe a few months out of the year (not ideal).
I am not keen on becoming an Italian nurse since they are paid shillings, but I would like to work in Lugano. The goal is to live there or on Lago di Como.
