Possession of Marijuana and Nursing future

I am 21 pre nursing student in NC 2 months ago I was with some friends and I got in trouble with a charge with possession of marijuana class 3 misdemeanor(very tiny amount). I was not arrested but I got a citation now I am trying to dismiss the charge and then expunge it since it was my first and only offense ever. They didn't take my fingerprint but now since it's pending charge it shows up on my record. My question is that getting in to the program requires live scan fingerprinting background check I am scared to apply even for my CNA since it will show up am I able to get my RN license
