Portfolio help

Hello everyone. I am an ADN-RN. I applied to a program that admits non-BSN students as long as they have a bachelors degree. I have a BA and an MA. Nursing is my second career. Anyhow, for non-BSN applicants they require a portfolio. Professional trainings, etc. I do not have a lot in that regard. Any suggestions to help my application stand out? I really am intrigued by the NP role and the increased involvement in creating and implementing a plan of care.

One of the main things I have to write is a statement of purpose. I want to be a NP because I find the job intellectually stimulating and I like the increased involvement in the plan of care. I'm not sure how to phrase that without it sounding cliche.
