There is no waiting list. I got in with a 3.3 and an 84 on my TEAS. Teas is worth the most points in the selection process. Intro is a prereq, so you have to take it before you get in. You can apply while you are taking it though. Its like a CNA course, and you have clinicals at nursing homes. In the program, we do clinicals at Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Lakeland Regional, Bartow, and Heart of Florida. As far as prereqs go, you don't need diet and nutrition. You need a college level math, english 1, micro, ap1&2, humanities, growth and dev, and Intro. I might be missing one...its early for me...but their website lists everything out pretty well. :)

Ok I just transferred to Valencia community college from another state and when they got my transcripts they took all of them but one class that I'm currently disputing which is AP1. I'm so frustrated about that because of it I CAN'T take AP2, micro, diet and nutrition, which is what I need in order to apply to the program which mind you is a TWO YEAR wait list. I thought about LPN program at TECO and then doing the fast standing track in Valencia OR work on bachelors preregs for UCF (ultimately I'm going to get a BSN),but I'm not sure if those are the right options yet. So then I heard about Polk state college and their RN program.
So here's my questions:
Is there a wait list?
Where do you do your clinicals, what hospitals?
Hard is it to get in, what do they look at, TEAS, GPA, Straight A's etc?
I heard there was a Intro class, can you take that once in the program?
So far I got college algebra, AP1, ENG, gen psychology.
And I need AP2, micro, human and growth, diet and nutrition
Anything else that i might be missing?
Anyone that has any info about Polk will be appreciated.
