You mean, "Have any of you taken the LPN recently and then the RN? Is it more difficult?"

Yes, I have within 1.5 years of each other. The test is different.

Thank you Bloodmonster for the english lesson.....and yes, obviously the exams are different, I was asking if the varying degree of difficulty can be explained by anyone who has taken both exams.

I have taken both exams in the past, although not real recently...Lpn in 1999 and the RN in 2001. I found the RN exam to be very different than the PN NCLEX....as one might expect....and considerably more difficult. I found that the PN exam questions were more black and white, whereas the RN exam questions required more critical thinking. I found that many of them had more than one right answer...it was a matter of which one was more right. I felt it was a test that you really couldn't "cram" for...you had a have a good working knowledge of theory. I'm sure taking some of those practice tests help, but I didn't feel there was any last minute studying for it...it was pretty comprehensive. Hope that helps.

My appologizes if you were offended. I thought I'd just help clarify the meaning of your words.

To answer you question, I remember the RN Nclex like it was yesturday. As an RN student we're drilled over and over again to use our critical thinking skills. By doing so we must always use our ABC's. When taking the NClex there will be two right answers for the most part. When choosing the answer for the Nclex sake you must always refer to the ABC's. You won't fail the test if you follow that simple rule.
