PMHNP in Herzing

Hello guys, I am pretty new here and I am doing my research about the PMHNP program. I came across Herzing because my coworker is doing his pmhnp there right now. So far, I have not seen any bad reviews about the program as I search the internet. I called them up last week and they were very accommodating with all my questions. 

If everything falls into place, I might be starting this coming Fall. My only concern is finding a preceptor. I have read posts about the hardships in finding a preceptor. We are based in LA and I have no connections what so ever. I work in the ER and will probably keep my eye open starting now to build those connections. 

Are there any Herzing pmhnp student here who had issues finding preceptors in LA area? Were you guys able to finish the program in time?

Hello, 

I just graduated from the PMHNP program from Herzing. Finding a preceptor is going to me an issue, regardless of which school you go to because most of them require you to find your own preceptor. I luckily did not have difficulty finding a preceptor since I worked at a psych hospital and made connections but I wasn't getting the proper education from them because they were practicing old medicine. I ended up paying for a preceptor so I could actually learn. If you don't have a problem with paying for a preceptor, you will have no problems in finding one because there are many out there taking students for a charge. And you can easily find one doing telehealth, which can be convenient. Good luck!

LA as in Louisiana or Los Angeles? 

if you mean Los Angeles

CSULB has an on campus program and they set you up with preceptors.
