Ah yes, I just wrote a paper for my nursing theory class on Family-centered care. Some of the key tenets of FCC is that there must be mutual respect, communication, and collaboration. The family should be welcome at the bedside 24/7 and proper accommodations provided that meets their needs.
If you do a google search, you'll find all kinds of helpful info. There's also a good ped nursing textbook and you're able to view the entire first chapter online, which is all about FCC. http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&id=4RULnXxR0iwC&dq=pediatric+nursing+procedures&printsec=frontcover&source=web&ots=Ga8Y6rBII4&sig=nr7yKZ3LUf9DQ8NLTlLkOyZvxaw&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=7&ct=result#PPA3,M1
Best of luck to you!
